About the Author and Publisher of our first Legend:

Marge Fredlund, Delta, Colorado, is a long time Quarter Horse, Appaloosa and Paint breeder. A strong interest in bloodlines led her to study the pedigrees of top show and race horses, which revealed predictable patterns of success. She developed a keen sense of their origin. Not surprisingly, the majority of top performers today still trace to the same few ancestors along maternal lines.

Andrea Laycock Mattson, has been a Quarter Horse pedigree researcher for more than 25 years, providing a pedigree and sale catalog service to an international clientele. She is the author of several books on the subject, and webmaster of HorsesOnly.com, a popular web site dedicated to Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa breeders and showmen. She and her husband, Paul Mattson are small breeders living near Wamego, Kansas.
